HB 922 requires Missouri schools to adopt a policy on allergy prevention and response to address potentially deadly food allergies. Recognize and diagnose food allergies; the need for educating adolescents with life-threatening allergies on prevention and management of allergic reactions; and effective strategies to manage food allergies.
Session 13. Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) Section 504

Do you know the differences between Sections 504, the IDEA and the ADA? There are ramifications in this new law that affect food service, student disabilities, and employee rights. Participants will learn the information they need to prepare for and comfortably participate in Section 504 meetings.
Session 14. Behavior Intervention in Your School and Community

Facing situations of abuse, drug/alcohol usage, homelessness, and/or lack of supervision, children are coming to school with more challenging behavioral problems. Participants will learn about an intervention strategy for dealing with troubled youth, Behavior Intervention Support Team (BIST), a confrontational model to provide every student with a safe and productive learning environment.
Session 15. Protect Your Sex Ed Program With Parents

In this session participants will hear stories of successful parent-led initiatives, identify strategies to increase communication with parents, learn techniques for reframing issues that often lead to conflict and become skilled on ways to build support for programs that help student make healthy choices now and for a lifetime.
