History
The Missouri Coordinated School Health
Coalition was formed as a result of the Governor's School
Health Summit in 1994. The members
of the Coalition represent 36 state agencies and organizations
in a statewide partnership to advocate for Coordinated School
Health Programs.
The Coalition developed the "School
Health Advisory Council Guide" to help schools establish
local councils.
What are Coordinated School Health Programs?
Coordinated School Health Programs are a cost-effective,
collaborative way to promote the health of your community's
students. A school health program that effectively addresses
student's health and therefore improves their ability to learn,
consists of many components.
Each component contributes in its own unique way, while overlapping
with the others.
Strategic Plan
The Missouri Coordinated School Health Coalition
(MCSHC) is a collaborative of organizations and individuals
whose primary responsibility is to assist schools in their
student health and wellness initiatives. We developed this
strategic plan to strengthen our efforts to reach more schools
and increase the effectiveness of our support for coordinated
school health. This strategic
plan covers three years, 2007 through 2009. It is intended to communicate our purpose and
support our decision-making regarding organizational structure,
policy, budget, and program priorities.
